I parked my car around 6.30 PM yesterday, plugged in the engine heater and covered the windshield with a piece of fabric. That way I don’t need to spend time scraping ice… Well, this afternoon when I wanted to go visit my teenagers, I had 15 cm (6 inches) of snow to sweep off the car – I kid you not! No wonder I’m looking forward to getting away from this for a while.

Yes – it is pretty, I love the colours and normally I would accept this is the way my world will look for the next few months. It must be the knowledge that I’ll be away from it for some time that makes me so impatient with the snow – and the cold – and the darkness!

You do a wonderful job in finding the beauty of it.

I try. I try. With my history I almost feel an obligation to look on the bright side.
Besides that I’ve always been one to assume that everything will work out – somehow. So far and 56 years into my life I’ve been proven right…

I know it must drive you bonkers (at least on occasion, like today!) but oh, how very beautiful it looks in your photographs! Perhaps that is how I prefer my snow? Captured by a gifted photographer and sent via the magic of the interweb to my computer screen where I can view it in my warm & cozy home.
