Beavers

These pictures are taken in about the same place as were I got the shot of the sky I posted the other day. 

The beavers has been at it in this spot during a couple of summers – judging by the darker parts of wood where they have been attempting to fell this tree. It looked as if someone had destroyed a dam right by the road ( the landowner is a safe bet) which may have discouraged the beaver last summer. 

I know beavers can wreak havoc in large areas with their dams – in some places they are considered almost as vermin, but I still admire their industriousness.
