The road to cottage country* just outside town is plowed again and there’s a skidoo trail right to the end of the island! I just love to walk in that area – most of the time Loki and I are all alone and the light over the water is very photogenic.
It may be somewhat exaggerated to call this a jetty – but without it the owners wouldn’t be able to reach it without risking their lives among the boulders along the shore. I have more pictures to post over the next few days, which is a good thing since I’ll be “busier than a lint-picker in a serge factory.” Now, why did I remember that saying??? It must be 35 years since I heard it – and how many these days even know what serge is???
* This sounds as if there are hundreds of cottages in the area. In fact, there are no more than 10-12 distributed over 4-5 islands among the rapids… They are all secluded enough that the owners can almost pretend they have their own island.

Lovely, lovely light!
I could love a cottage there.
*I was thinking of a serger (special type of sewing machine) which also produces a LOT of lint.
