I was invited to the 10 year reunion of my students who graduated 2004. At first I was a bit leery about the whole thing, but as the day/evening progressed I changed my mind.
I got to talk at length with a number of them – especially two of the boys (well, young men) who have taken the hard route in previous years. One of them is sober and clean since 4 years, the other realised he needed therapy to get rid of his anger, self doubt and destructive behaviour. Out of 36 students in all, 28 showed up for dinner and the three girls who arranged the whole thing were roundly applauded.
Yes, this is the view from the restaurant where we had dinner.
